OmniVue® Platform Enhancements
Upgrades are here once again with the OmniVue® platform enhancements and we’ve got the updates to share with you before they’re out!
Attractive, engaging, and memorable.
These are the ideal words used to describe a sticky company website. Why aim for a “sticky” website you ask? Forbes explains that it is a differentiator. “Stickiness” describes content with power to captivate an audience, rather than content that can barely hold the attention of visitors for a nanosecond.
It is agreed that keeping visitors on your website, for as long as possible, can be crucial to generating consistent traffic. Which is why MicroD has updated the OmniVue® platform with enhancements to better help your website’s stickiness.
Motion Premium Slideshow
If you can recall in the last update, MicroD announced the Premium Slideshow add-on for the first time. Now there is a Motion Premium Slideshow to create an even more engaging impression. Showcasing your brands and home furnishings online is easier than ever.
When visitors come to a slideshow, they usually wait until the end when all the images rotate through. This waiting period adds on to how long each user is on your website. The longer they stay on your site, the more it indicates to search engines that the site is engaging. In short, motion slideshows are just another roundabout way to boost SEO.
This new feature will zoom into the images on an existing homepage Premium Slideshow, and draw attention to those beautiful furniture displays.
The release of MicroD’s enhanced OmniVue® platform for retailers and manufacturers will also ensure that the slideshows remain “right-sized”. Photography will be aligned so that small-screen mobile devices won’t need to scale down large desktop-sized images. This will improve website responsiveness.
Catalogs New Item Tag
We’ve worked with hundreds of retailers during our time in the home furnishings industry. Every retailer we talk to and work with has named updated catalog data as the most critical component to a successful website. Well, retailers, we heard you. MicroD has enhanced catalog management where you take the power over the catalog data on your website. Our catalog data management system has been a popular choice for retailers over the years and our enhanced OmniVue® platform allows you to get even more detailed with the display of home furnishings online. Showcase new inventory with a special callout tag for customers browsing the hottest new items that you have in stock. Decide how long items can be classified as “New” in catalogs to keep your inventory fresh and updated for customers. In turn, those designated items will also be demonstrated as “New” on live websites.
This means when browsing for products, visitors can sort items by their date of introduction. The latest products are now easier to look for and identify!
Product Photography
Did you know 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual? And 46.1 % of people say a website’s design is the number one measure for judging the credibility of a company.

Appearance is everything, especially in the home furnishings industry. What visitors and customers see has a definite influence on business.
MicroD’s OmniVue® platform enhancements now showcases your photography! Product Photography will be eliminating all unnecessary “white space” from photos. Each product will be identified within the original image, then properly cropped out and scaled so that they are presented in full frame. Search pages are now going to appear more attractive. This formatting automatically takes place when manufacturer images are provided and are then displayed in the correct size to appear uniform on the page. Our OmniVue® platform for retailers and manufacturers takes high-quality photography to a new level.
What are the advantages of high-quality photographs on a great website?
- A professional look and feel can build trust and guide customers to take action
- Design of a website can affect how fast visitors can find what they are searching for
- The smallest details separate good websites from great websites
Room Planner
Designers often like to dress up their room plans using different colors. Usually to match the color of the furniture they are presenting or to indicate existing versus new pieces in the room. The solid fill option has been added for those who don’t like filling their furniture with a gradient color.
Good news! With the OmniVue® platform enhancements, our 2D Room Planner will be available for use on Microsoft Edge.
