Industry leaders start their 3D roadmap to compete with large furniture retail. From Walmart to Ikea, there is a new standard for product visualization. 3D product visualization technology makes its way into the business goals for 2018 and 2019. That’s why Baker Interiors Group comes to partner with MicroD, 3D and furniture technology provider of 25 years, for 3D product models.
MicroD’s 3D product technology started in 2017 with the launch of OmniVueXR. The technology is producing better quality, realistic 3D product visualization tools than others in the industry. Baker Interiors Group started innovating in 3D with a sustainable strategy to grow. Step one: satisfy a high-priority need for a 3D product library.
MicroD’s Approach to 3D Technology
The MicroD 3D product visualization solutions start with our skilled group of 3D modelers. “[Our 3D modelers] are conditioned to push the envelope on process efficiencies and ways to shorten the project output cycle,” says MicroD Vice President of Operations, Keith Johns. Which makes MicroD uniquely positioned to answer the call for Baker Interiors urgency. Needing digitized models of upholstery and case good items in high detail and the best accuracy, Baker sought a team who could create a steady and consistent volume of models.
With a tight deadline and a high-priority to support one of its key overseas customers, Baker selected MicroD’s OmniVueXR Modeling Services Team to create a 3D product model library of its current catalog. MicroD’s team, in collaboration with Baker Interiors Group, produced and delivered the 3D product models in a fraction of the time of standard projects. Now, Baker is positioned to push their digital initiative into overdrive with the help of MicroD.
Each 3D model was digitized and carefully crafted to articulate the wood, fabric and lighting intricacies that a customer expects to see on a real, physical piece of furniture. Chief Product Officer at MicroD, Richard Sexton, emphasizes that “the Baker name is synonymous with heirloom quality furniture, and we are delighted that MicroD was able to create 3D models capturing all of the details, from hardware to rich wood finishes, that define this high-end collection.”
This sentiment was echoed by Baker’s Communications Manager, Andrew Burkhart, “MicroD really impressed us with the quality of the 3D models and their exceptional project performance. We are even more confident in our decision to partner with MicroD as our provider for digital asset creation.”
Baker Interiors Group is embracing its role as an industry innovator and MicroD is energized to support its efforts. MicroD will continue to develop the full catalog of current Baker products and update their 3D product models library with new items as they are released. The partners have already discussed future plans to implement additional online product visualization tools.
