Many thousands of home furnishings industry professionals made the trek to High Point in October for the second High Point Market in 2016. Known as the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, High Point Market is the place to be every April and October. This year was no different in that respect. In others, however, it was extraordinary.

Showroom after showroom was bedecked with retailer favorites and new items among the widely-anticipated collections. Designers, buyers, retailers, manufacturers, home furnishings vendors, and many industry professionals between flocked to a sunny High Point for the many seminars, events, and networking functions. MicroD was fortunate to be part of several key days at market this October. Whether it was introducing new professionals to the home furnishings world, attending awards events, partnering in a home furnishings tour, leading informative seminars, or just showing support to our customers and partners, MicroD’s team was on the move this market.
Gracing the atrium wall in Furniture Plaza and Plaza Suites are the images of men and women who are considered to be leaders of the home furnishings industry through time–and we couldn’t agree more. Each person has contributed in a major way to the industry and community, and have received the great honor of joining the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame.
One of the most exclusive and rewarding opportunities this market was attending the Hall of Fame celebration. Founded on February 22, 1988, the Hall of Fame pays tribute to those industry leaders that preserve the industry’s heritage and pave the way for the future of the industry.

This induction ceremony celebrations the outstanding accomplishments and professionals who have built and continue to build upon the home furnishings industry. Attendees “Catch the Spirit” at the prestigious gathering as the new members were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
One of this year’s inductees, John Bray, was no stranger to MicroD’s passion for technology. Owner and CEO of Vanguard Furniture, John Bray was the first Prevue user in the industry. Bray has always been a proponent of technology and his implementation of the MicroD desktop-based fabric visualization software was one early step in the direction of digitizing the home furnishings industry space with MicroD. Propelling more businesses into the future of technology in the home furnishings industry is just one accomplishment we are happy to have been a part of with Bray.
